Lionel Richie to sing at Steve Gerrard's Wedding ? Could this model be an ideal partner to Free music ?

Just heard this on Talksport. If this is true then could this be a new 'live music' model for artists ? Should every decent act be prepared to make an appearance at fans' functions, weddings, parties etc ? Now i know this isn't new and JLO was reportedly paid a million bucks to sing at some Russian billionaire's wedding. But with falling income from downloads, record sales etc could this be a good way to beef up your income. It could bring a whole new dimension to giving away free mp3. For example you could give a way 1000 mp3s as part of advertising your 'live' services for hire and make that back with one booking. Also as a 'celebrity' guest you could sing for 15 minutes and walk away with a small fortune, especially with wedding gigs.

Weddings are big business and a couple's second most expensive single 'expense' in their lifetime. Buying a home being the most expensive. If Lionel Richie does perform at Gerrard's wedding, how much will he be paid ?

Ok i can hear some of you moaning about this but face it singing at weddings and functions is not only guaranteed income, it can be a great experience too. I have DJ'd at many a wedding and I must say i have enjoyed them all. The food is usually great, the venues are decent and the amount of time you are actually performing is short. The happy couple want to get away as quick as possible for some (ahem !) and there are usually plenty of laughs. Best of all the pay is very good !
